Zagroda Pokazowa Żubrów Muczne

     Zagroda Pokazowa Żubrów w Mucznem to miejsce, które powstało w ramach projektu "Ochrona in situ żubra w Polsce – część południowa", dofinansowanego przez Unię Europejską i Narodowy Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej. Zlokalizowana jest przy drodze Stuposiany – Tarnawa Niżna, nad potokiem Czerwonym, około 2 km przed miejscowością Muczne.

 

     Zagroda kontynuuje hodowlę żubrów w Bieszczadach, zapoczątkowaną w 1963 roku w zagrodzie aklimatyzacyjnej nad potokiem Zwir w Nadleśnictwie Stuposiany. Prezentuje żubry linii białowiesko-kaukaskiej, znanej również jako górska linia, sprowadzone ze Szwajcarii i Francji.

 

     Zajmując powierzchnię leśną około 7 ha, zagroda umożliwia obserwację żubrów w ich naturalnym środowisku. Teren jest porośnięty starymi jodłami i świerkami, a przez środek przepływa potok dostarczający wodę żubrom. Tarasy widokowe dla zwiedzających zapewniają doskonałe warunki do obserwacji żubrów niezależnie od pogody. Obiekt spełnia funkcję edukacyjną, będąc jedną z głównych atrakcji turystycznych regionu.
