Wzgórze Zamkowe w Kielcach

     Wzgórze Zamkowe, znane również jako Wzgórze Katedralne, to wzniesienie położone w centrum Kielc, sięgające wysokości 280 m n.p.m. Nazwa tego terenu jest związana z budową Pałacu Biskupów Krakowskich w latach 1637–1641, który często określany był mianem zamku. Wzgórze stanowi boczne ramie Psich Górek, które osiągają wysokość około 305 m n.p.m. i są częścią Pasma Kadzielniańskiego, przebiegającego przez południową część miasta.

 

     W 1295 roku Kielce uzyskały przywilej na obwarowanie miasta, w tym również Wzgórza Zamkowego, które zostało otoczone murami obronnymi. Te historyczne umocnienia, w tym strzelnice, zostały zburzone w 1827 roku na zlecenie bpa krakowskiego Jana Pawła Woronicza.
